Russian immigrants Emma and Gregory have a difficult time adapting to life in Israel, and it puts a strain on their marriage. After some false starts, they both end up working, in different ways, with Alon, a tech entrepreneur and aspiring artist whose own marriage is in trouble. Emma models for a drawing class that Alon attends, and the hot-headed Gregory settles into a job at Alon’s tech company. All these issues are pushed to the point of confrontation when Alon invites Emma and Gregory to his home for a dinner with himself and his wife Yael and their friend Amnon, with whom Yael has been having an affair. Add a parakeet and you’ve got a contemporary domestic drama of Chekovian dimensions.
